Custom Lucite Acrylic Board for Cold Pressing Comic Books
Always use the same side as the “down” side and keep it free from marks and scratches. We put a sticker on the upper right corner indicating which side to face up.
Lucite is much harder to scratch than other materials but can still be scratched.
Keep a total of about 1.5-2.0 lb on a comic book for about 5 days to cold press, or 6-8 hours after a heat press to reduce “cover rise”.
See-through lucite to watch when the desired planarity is reached. Lift the panel a little and if the book wrinkles somewhat then continue pressing.
Cold pressing does not always work effectively but it has its uses and is very easy.
Our custom pressing boards will help keep comics flat and within view. These cold press boards also protect your comics on your workbench while performing other tasks.
