This kit supports the methods in the book “Comic Book Conservation” by Drs Shelby Thompson and Paul Kosnik https://amzn.to/4l7vH7Y
Follow their guidance in this great book, or see my videos on youtube.
Kit comes with
- 1 Food-grade HDPE 1 liter bottle
- 1.8g of Ca(OH)2 calcium hydroxide. Enough for 12 bottles of solution and 12-24 comic book treaments
- one 0.15ml measuring spoon
- one 250ml tripour beaker
You can purchase additional calcium hydroxide here on amazon: https://amzn.to/4khebgl
Each 0.15ml scoop is 0.34g of Ca(OH)2. Note, the solubility of Ca(OH) at 20C is 1.73 g/l, so each scoop is ~20% of saturation.
Directions for makeup are on the bottle label bit also here:

Mix one scoop of calcium hydroxide per one liter fo distilled or DI water. Shake vigorously until dissolved.
It may require sitting overnight with occasional agitation to fully dissolve.
Follow instructions per the comic book conservation guide for deacidificion of comic book covers.
