Our Photobleaching light box is for whitening comic books.
It supplies a Purple (435nm) or Blue (455nm) LED LIGHT ARRAY
The Purple (435nm) is a shorter wavelength and, therefore, a higher energy light.
Both lights perform similarly.
This process does not typically affect the color but in longer durations on some books had been known to lighten reds and yellow colors
Whitens white areas.
Can be used with or without H2O2
We recommend 1-6% H2O2 and 0.5-2 hours of light exposure
This light box is custom-made with two 24 LED light arrays side by side.
This allows it to whiten your comic book lying flat, treating both front and back covers or inside covers.
Surrounding our light array is a custom box.
The benefit of using our mirror-around light array is that the lights are directed 90 degrees down to the book. Some of this light is absorbed, but some of it also reflects back up onto the mirror and then reflects back to your comic book for a more effective treatment.
The box itself can be colored, clear, or mirrored. It has four-sides and no bottom, so it can be placed and removed over a stationary comic book.
The Blue Light array acts as a lid; lays onto your box.
We recommend placing something on the bottom to place your book on…. our magazine-chamfered boards are a great option! You can also purchase lights separately and build your own box.
Interior Dimensions are 14.25″ x 10.75″ x 3.5″
If you are removing your comic book cover, we recommend using our Capable Staple Remover & Flawless Staple Remover.
